There was a boy who was lookin for trouble one day
The need for a needle carved the only way
The family was the easy path he saw
He took his father by the neck and put him to the wall
With the money in his hand, was it worth the pain?
Gettin that feeling, yeah, I think it’s gonna rain
His dad still loved him even with the scars
His baby boy still had a good heart
But the love in his home just wasn’t enough
It was a losing battle that he wouldn’t give up
The state of their love was a broken train
Can’t fix it right now, cause I think it’s gonna rain
When the water falls, there will be… no return
There’s fire in the water, it’s a Blaze… let it burn
His dad had a friend who knew wrong from right
The boy showed up - he was looking for a fight
The friend stood his ground and told him to go home
He wasn’t leaving that dad and boy alone
The boy pulled a gun and the friend did say
“There’s a storm coming in, yeah, I think it’s gonna rain”
It only took one shot and then the friend knew
He walked out and fell on the avenue
He was alone looking up while the coward boy fled
“Please don’t let me die now” was all he said
The clouds fell thick over the long red lane
It’s clear to me, yeah, I think it’s gonna rain
